Thom Donovan is a poet, essayist, and editor. He edits the weblog Wild Horses Of Fire—now in its 8th year—and the magazine/monograph series ON Contemporary Practice. His poetry and criticism have been published widely and his first book, The Hole, was published in 2012 with Displaced Press. With Sreshta Rit Premnath he is the curator of the Project for an Archive of the Future Anterior, a video archive that gathers content regarding the immanence of possible futures. He is currently editing two books: the “essential writings” of the Lebanese-American writer, Etel Adnan (with Brandon Shimoda; Nightboat Books, 2013); and a “primer” for the work of the American poet and designer, Robert Kocik (with Michael Cross; ON Contemporary Practice, 2012). He received his Ph.D. in English from SUNY-Buffalo in 2009 and has been a visiting professor at NYU, Bard College, School of Visual Arts, and Parsons.
