For its upcoming Summer 2017 translation issue, and in response to Canada's "150th Birthday," The Capilano Review invites you to select, intervene, and transform an official state document such as the Charter of Rights, the Indian Act, Bill C-51, or another state document of your choice.
Award: 1st prize – $500 + publication in the Summer 2017 translation issue: TCR 3.32
Fee: $25 for Canadian entries, $35 for US/international entries
Runners-up: 10 shortlisted entries will be published in the online magazine that accompanies the print issue: ti-TCR 16

Judges: Mercedes Eng and Catriona Strang
Mercedes Eng is a teacher and writer in Vancouver, unceded Coast Salish Territories. She is the author of Mercenary English (CUE Books, 2013; Mercenary Press, 2016) and the forthcoming Prison Industrial Complex Explodes (Talonbooks 2017), both of which deploy documentary poetics to explore multiple forms of violence.
Catriona Strang is the incoming editor at TCR, and the author of several books of poetry, including Corked (Talon, 2014), and the forthcoming Reveries of a Solitary Biker, and most recently edited Nancy Shaw's Selected Poems, The Gorge (Talon, 2017).
