Founded by Pierre Coupey in North Vancouver in 1972, The Capilano Review is a tri-annual literary and visual arts magazine that publishes high-calibre Canadian experimental poetry, fiction, drama, and visual art, including compact interviews, short essays, reviews, and commentary that probe writers’ and artists’ work and provide access to current perspectives on literature, art, and culture. We welcome the work of both established and emerging writers and artists.
Each year TCR launches special issues with events in Vancouver, and participates in a variety of literary events and festivals including the CCWWP Conference, AWP Conference, Word Vancouver, Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts, Vancouver Art/Book Fair, and more.
TCR is perfect bound, 7 inches wide by 9 inches high, approximately 144 pages per issue, and has an annual print circulation of 1200. National retail distribution is provided by Magazines Canada. TCR features thoughtful, playful, critical, language-oriented space with full-colour art sections promoting dialogue between writers and artists.
