Eleni Sikelianos

Eleni Sikelianos, a native of California, is the author of a hybrid memoir, a long eco-poem, and other books of poetry, the most recent being Body Clock. Forthcoming are The Loving Details of the Living & the Dead (2013), and another hybrid fiction/nonfiction memoir/poem. She has been the happy recipient of various awards for her poetry, nonfiction, and translations, including an NEA and a National Poetry Series selection. A selected poems was published in France (translator Béatrice Trotignon, Editions Grèges) in 2007; Le poème Californie (trans. Trotignon, Grèges) and Le livre de Jon (translator Christophe Claro, Actes Sud) will be published in 2012. In August, she performed parts of The California Poem with composer Philip Glass, set to his music, for his inaugural Days & Nights festival. Her work has been anthologized here and there, including in American Hybrid and The Norton Anthology of Postmodern American Poetry.
